Strategy!
THE DREAMMASTER'S KAGE MARU STRATEGY
I finally took off that stupid image that took about ten minutes to load. If for some perverted reason you actually want to see it it's at geocities.com/TimesSquare/Realm/3887/vf3k.gif.
KAGE INSTANT DEATH COMBO!
I actually haven't tested this combo yet, but here it is anyway:
Kage's back is to the wall. You ten-foot-toss them into the wall (b+p+g), but Kage has to be far enough away so that they don't hit the wall. When they're coming down, you make thm land in a back thrust kick (b+k+g) and make them hit their head into the wall. And remember, only the kick hits them into the wall, not the TFT. That, for some reason, kills them.
Actually, I think it said that this was a glitch, it happened once, it doesn't always work. The back thrust kick's not supposed to do that much damage. Don't complain if you can't get it to work because it is only a BUG.
This combo taken from the Kage Syndicate.
STRATEGY AGAINST CHICKEN PLAYERS
Okay, here goes. I'm finally going
to put on strategy for Kage. Right, kids? Let's hear a big "yeaah!!" Oh, and
if you happen to see a certain big fuzzy purple dinosaur, remember to kick his
CENSORED for me, okay? Yeah, I know. You thought
the Barney jokes were over two decades ago. Okay: da strategy:
Against CHICKEN PLAYERS, just play.
It doesn't have to be as good as you can play or anything, but if you're not a
chicken player and you're fighting a chicken player, well, here's what I do:
Chicken players who thinks they can beat the living hell outta you:
I usually do my showiest moves, my best combos, whatever I can think of on
the spot. Do some cool throws, too. Chicken players hate that. It makes them
get all furious and pound on the buttons, but, to no avail because, what have we
here, Virtua Fighter is not Tekken. Another thing: Against these chicken
players, you can (but don't have to) be cheap but subtle in doing so. Just keep
doing the same move or spiffy combo over and over again, and they won't notice.
They just get mad because there's someone that they can't beat when they play their
best (which is actually just pounding on the buttons as hard as they can). Dodge
a lot. They're attacks won't hit you. It's really funny to watch someone get mad
at the game/you because the're hitting the button and on the game your energy
go down.
Chicken players who aren't to sure of themself and are just the slightest bit
Defensive:
Don't go to hard on them. You don't need to. You can, but some of it won't
work because they tend to be a bit more observant, and think more. In my humble
opinion, these chicken players are better than the aforementioned(did I get that
word right?) Do some reversals, too. Like, every time they tentatively mash on
forward and all the buttons, they get reversed and their butts handed to them on
a silver platter, and they don't even know what happened.(chicken player in the
insane asylum: I don't know what happened...i hit the button...as hard as I
could...and he didn't...he didn't get hit...bwahahahaaaaaaa!!!)
Back to top Section last updated long ago (I don't know exactly when the last time I updated this was)
Now let's get over with the cheesy part, shall we(oh, there I go again):
Okay:for experts (beginners will come later):
First, I would like to make a statement. I consider myself an expert
Kage Maru player. I have several reasons for doing so, and before you start
sending me nasty e-mail about how you think you know who I am and I am not an ex-
pert Kage player, I will say that when my local arcade had VF3 (and they're
ing it back in a while, not too long, I think), I was the best Kage player I saw.
I beat just about everyone I fought in a two-player game, and I beat VF3 the fourth
time I played it. I consider myself an expert Kage player based on the other VF3
players I saw, and well, I'll say I was definitely an expert player compared to them
and was probably an expert Kage player anyway. When my arcade gets VF3 back, I
might find that I have entirely lost it for Kage, but somehow I doubt that'll happen.
Thanx for listenin to a stupid kid ramble on and on(i'm eleven now--Aug. 1997)

Strategy:
AGAINST THE COMPUTER
Here's what to do to win and play good, not to show
off or anything:
Finally. The basic of how to play is to just completely hammer at the
opponent, but in a good way, not a bad, hammer-randomly type way. (You decide
about exactly which way will be what. If you make a mistake too often, read the
intermediate player strategy when I get around to doing it, and you know how long
I took to do just this!!) You have to be strategic. Make sure not too keep doing
the same move. As Kage, it's very easy to make that mistake. Another thing: be
unpredictable, but in the same style as everything else you do. Unpredable-play
only comes in handy at certain times, some of them when you are losing. Do, say,
an u/f+k+g (I remember moves by their controls, not whatever name they happen to
have, because if I find out a move, I don't name it instantly.). If it hits, then
as soon as they (the opponent) get up, do a slide tackle or sweep, since the
slide tackle has a lot of attack frames and the sweep has a lot of pre-lag frames,
so start the move a little bit before the opponent is finished getting up.
If the u/f+k+g is blocked, then do a b,b+k+g. If that's blocked, then do
a) a turn-towards low kick (sweep) b)u (or is it u/f?...I think it is...)+k
but that's risky because Kage is airborne and he's wide open for a counter.
Most likely after the d+k, (don't do that if you're too in-close), dodge or dash
away (preferably dodge) and face forward. If you dash away, make sure you're in
a safe spot before you face forward, or you can do a back throw (u+p+g). If
you dodge, then you could face forward immediately, but they might try to throw
you (after all, you're pretty vulnerable to a throw in that situation). So maybe
duck for a bit, in the time you think they'll try to throw you, then face forward.
If they're doing whiffed throw animation, they're open. Slap away!
Now, don't whine to me that this strategy doesn't work. This is just an ex-
ample of how you can play Kage. I don't guarentee that this will work. I haven't
played VF3 for more than about three months (actually I think it's more like six).
I guess that's all the expert strategy I'm going to write for now (meaning
that's all the expert strategy you're going to get for now...)

BEGINNER STRATEGY & GUIDE
Coming soon...
Right. Here we go. I didn't realize how long ago it was that I updated this section. Whew! I guess the last time I updated this page I left everybody (who's everybody? the three people that actually go to my page?) hanging with the condition of the VF3 machine in My Local Arcade. Well, it's all well and good now, it works fine, and I'm awesome at it. And since I'm so good (brag, brag, brag) I can put on some strategy for beginners. Note also: if you are reading this section I will assume that you have looked over and are familiar with the moves list (the first part of this guide).
Okay, see, a good thing to do if (and let's face it) you're not that good is to rely on Kage's basic moves sorta. You don't try any spiffy combos or fancy stuff unless you absolutely know you can pull it off or get it to work. Some of the basic moves I'm talking about are:
flying kick (f,f+p+g+k)--must block low
corkscrew kick (f,f+k+g)--must block high & don't do this move as much
pppk & pppu/b+k--do the flipkick ending more since it's mid
sidekick (d/f+k)--mid, do if they're ducking or if Shun's bouncing on his head
f+p (elbow)mid--not as much
sweep (f,f+k)not as much--Kage is very vulnerable after this.
About shun bouncing on his head, though, what you really want to do is flying kick him. Sometimes what you can do is, flying kick them and if it connects, keep doing it over and over again as soon as they try to get up. See, that's a thing as Kage. If they're rolling, they're dead. When you knock them down, and they're rolling (especially forward) there are a couple of moves you can do to them. They are:
Reverse flipkick (u/f+k+g)--follow up with an auto ground kick whenever you get this to connect
Turnaround Reverse Flipkick (d/f+k+g)--follow this up with a turnaround low kick, then ground kick
Flipkick (u/b+k+g)--only if they're in close
Backflipkick(u/b+k)--more of an in-close. You may not be able to pull this one off.
Sidekick (d/f+k) Sorta.
I'll explain about auto moves in a bit.

VIRTUA FIGHTER 2 STRATEGY
Since my local arcade got rid of VF3 and I haven't played it for a really long time and instead they got VF2, I am going to start a VF2 strategy guide. I had an old one on Angelfire, like 26 pages or something, but it got wiped out in Angelire's "Severe disk crash" in May 9..7, I think. But good news for the people here about VF3: the arcade is going to get VF3 back sometime in November, should be, but they are getting it back soon. (Sooner, I hope.) And, as you should know, I major with Kage in VF2. Pretty much all the VF games except a little bit in VF1, but who plays that. But also, don't get me wrong, cause I'm really good as some of the other characters...including Shun...I played as him one day and I was really good. Well, anyway, enough talk. Let's get some strategy! That was made long ago
-----TO BE ADDED SOON!----- So don't give up hope!!
Okay, give up hope. Here's the deal (I think I said this already in the below section) : My arcade got VF3 back and **gasp!** got rid of VF2. So what? That's good, ain't it? Well, see here, what happened is VF3 don't work. And now it probably won't be fixed for a vewy, vewy wong time, Johnny, so down't go whinin' to me about it, Johnny, and dat's da way it is, okay? See, there I go again..., goddamit!!! Why am I so stupid? They're all screaming at me, don't do it! Don't jump!!!! So anyway I'm not going to put on VF2 strategy for a long time, if ever (which will probably only happen if they don't get VF3 fixed soon.).

NOTHING, REALLY
Good news and bad news...some bad news first right now...I am currently using a mac which, in my opinion, may crash any moments so I lose whatever I'm doing (they do that to me a lot) so I'll have to submit very frequently...second, since something like that may happen you (the viewer) should reload if you haven't already. More bad news: no more VF2 strategy. My Local Arcade got rid of VF2. More bad news: I probably won't be able to update my page for a while. Anyway, even more bad news: hardcore gaming (http://www.hardcoregaming.com) still has my page under the old Angelfire address (/ia/DreamsCity/kagepage). Incase you got to this page in any way other than hardcore gaming, my page is under hardcore virtua fighter (http://www.hardcoregaming.com/vf.htm) and the FAQ section, for VF3, all the way down at the lousy bottom.
Okay, now for the good news, which, in my opinion, outweighs all of the bad news put together: My Local Arcade is getting VF3 back tomorrow morning at 9:00, when they open!!! (That's good for me but not for you unless you really care about his page.)
I kind of get the feeling that nobody really goes to this page becasue (a) the counter never really goes up except for once in awhile, and that's usually when I go there, and (b) I never get emails from people telling me what a great page I have (or what a bad page, what they liked or didn't like, and I want a five page report on my desk by Friday...). I'm always thinking about submitting my page to search engines, but I submitted it to a whole big bunch of them a long time ago and they never showed up...of course, I've also stopped checking for them on search engines, but anyway that was after they stopped showing up. But anyway, I know they're not on it because then my counter would be a little higher than it is or I'd have just one email from a concerned citizen of the DreamsCity..? ***hopefully pitiful*** Ya know, my Angelfire counter was at 400 the last time I checked and could be at 500 by now, who knows...I haven't even updated that page for a long, long time, and I've got this big notice on it that says, don't go to this page anymore, blah blah blah. I can't believe I come one here and think I'm going to do some good in the name of my Kagepage, and end up blathering about how everybody hates my page...or has never heard of it...or both...maybe that's the reason why. Yes, Mr. Captain America! Screw you too!! And practically no one's signed my guestbook. Why did I even get one. Of course, I haven't checked it for a long time. I think I'll go do that now and give your eyes a rest.
Back to topsection last updated a couple of weeks from 12/13/97
Okay, here's the deal with VF3. My Local Arcade got VF3 back...for a couple of days. I missed it. There was something wrong with the picture, though. They got it back a couple of days ago. I played it twice, was just getting the hang of it back. The picture was still screwed up, but it was playable. Then in a very sad story (which occured about twenty minutes later, and I know the story and had a part in it but it wasn't my fault and is too horrible to say here and is probably classified information anyway and if the FBI or CIA knew I wrote it they'd probably get a firing squad, all for me...) VF3 was no longer among the living. It was probably a boss in The House of the Dead, a VERY awesome game, which my arcade has. (The ULTIMATE challenge: not shoot down this game, but fix it. Can you do that..?) Anyway,, they probably aren't getting it back today (Thursday) but maybe tomorrow, which they probably won't, and wouldn't on Saturday or Sunday, either, for that matter, so probably on Monday, I guess, but then again, probably just tomorrow because supposedly it's fixed they just need to put it back together or something...(yeah, right, but just by having that happen to that faulty piece of crap would probably send it far beyond the ninth gate [clinically dead, I think, is the term that would apply if one were to go that far]. Has anyone read the book Sabriel? If you have you'd probably know what I mean by beyond the ninth gate. (I've read that book.)
I have problems, as anyone could tell if they read the whole nothing section. I'm just lonely...and don't take that the wrong way, or especially not personally, though I'd be glad to...ha, ha, listen to me, I sound like an old man. Go fetch the paper, boy, ya hear me, and a glass of stomach acid for yer old man here... uh, oh, gotta go now, my psychologist is waiting...
Okay, as you (as well as me) can see, I probably wasn't feeling too happy when I wrote the last section up there. Oh, well, see, as you can see, I'm learning C++, maybe C, too, programming. With it I might be able to finish my tour problem. I think I actually might put on some strategy now. But first I'm going to check out this site: parachat.com .
Well! It's certainly been a while since I've updated this section! Uhh...now I forgot why I was updating this section. By the way, the above mentioned problem with my tour (not the geoguide one) is using the meta refresh stuff I can't use the target=_top thing (which makes a link load into the whole page even if clicked from a frame page.). An interesting thought: I made my whole domain typing in HTML, not on a home page editor, like most people do. I remembered what I was writing about: something on download.com. In mac, games, then arcade, or action or something, there's this thing called smile: the splattering, where you get to beat up a smiley face. It's really funny. Oh well.
